Mets acting general manager Zack Scott pled not guilty to his DWI and three other charges during his Thursday morning arraignment, according to Newsday.
Scott, who was caught dozing off behind the wheel early Tuesday morning, had his scheduled appearance at White Plains City Court, and is next appearance will be on Oct. 7.
Scott, who took over for Jared Porter after he was fired following lewd text messages to a female reporter, refused a breathalyzer test, but failed a field sobriety test. His other charges included stopping on a highway, disobeying a traffic control device and failure to notify the Department of Motor Vehicles of a change in address.
According to multiple reports, which Mets manager Luis Rojas confirmed to WFAN on Wednesday, Scott was at a team charity event at owner Steve Cohen’s Connecticut home on Monday night, but multiple reports say that Scott, and the rest of the party, left around 9 p.m., nearly seven hours before he was found sleeping in his car.
The Mets released a statement that Scott will not be traveling with the team while they are on the road this week.
