A man and his 18-year-old daughter were uninjured after crash landing an airplane Tuesday night near Cambridge.

Shortly after 8 p.m. the Isanti County Sheriff's Office took a report that a plane believed to be having engine problems crash landed in a field in the 400 block of 309th Avenue NW in Bradford Township.

Police found the pilot who told them he had just left the Cambridge airport when the plane began having engine problems and completely lost power as he tried to turn around to go back to the airport.

The pilot looked for an alternative landing site and spotted a corn field where he was able to touch down safely. Both he and his daughter were uninjured in the landing.

A LifeLink helicopter in the area of the crash was able to circle above and give information to law enforcement, including information that two people had exited the aircraft and that there was no fire.

Both the FAA and the NTSB are investigating.
