Roseville Police say a 17-year-old assaulted several family members inside their Roseville home on Tuesday morning, prompting a brief manhunt and a widespread emergency alert to Twin Cities-area cell phones.

According to a press release on Wednesday afternoon, the suspect used a weapon to assault his mother, sister, and grandmother. The grandmother, 88-year-old Patricia Maslow, died at the scene. The 55-year-old mother was transported and remains hospitalized, and the 23-year-old sister was treated and released.

There are no charges listed at this time, and the boy remains in custody as the investigation continues.
