A local physical therapist is on his way to Tokyo to treat men's tennis athletes competing at the Olympics.

Shuhei Suzuki, a physical therapist at TRIA Orthopedics, admits he might not have much time to watch the matches between his work treating and assessing athletes.

It brings Suzuki to the country in which he was born.

"I've seen my parents when they came here when our first one was born but I haven't seen them for a couple years now since they went back so it'll be good to see them also," Suzuki said.

Plus it's a major career opportunity.

"I had dreamed to work in sports one day and decided on my career in physical therapy and I was hoping one day I would get to work at this level and working the Olympics and to be able to do that, especially in Tokyo where I'm from is very special," he said.

Suzuki says after more than a year of COVID precautions and working sports in a bubble environment he's ready to go and serve the athletes from all countries.
