Former President Donald Trump has never been one to mince words, but while his most effusive public vitriol is usually reserved for his opponents, he has been known to unleash a torrent of insults at even those he considers allies.

Now a new book is alleging Trump referred to current Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell as a “piece of sh*t.”

McConnell was the most powerful senator in America during Trump’s tenure in the White House, with the Republicans controlling the Senate and electing McConnell majority leader, a role he had also held during previous President Barack Obama’s stay in the White House.

As such, with Trump also belonging to the Republican party, the two men didn’t offer publicly butt heads.

However, in an accept published by The Atlantic from a new book by New York Times correspondent Maggie Haberman, Trump told Haberman, “The Old Crow’s a piece of sh*t,” in reference to McConnell.

It should be noted that McConnell’s wife Elaine Chao served in Trump’s cabinet as Secretary of Transportation.

Haberman said she interviewed Trump three separate times for her book after his stay in the White House ended. She also covered the Trump beat for years even predating his only term as President.

The book, “Confidence Man: The Making of Donald Trump and the Breaking of America,” is set to be released October 4.
