Making the case for keeping Tuukka Rask around

The Tuukka Rask debate won't die.

With new trade rumors involving the Bruins goalie surfacing this week, Dale Arnold, Rich Keefe and Nick Stevens debated the merits of keeping Rask around for next season.

Arnold, for one, believes the right move is to hang on to Rask.

"I'd keep him," he said. "I just don't think one year of Tuukka Rask is going to get you a whole lot in return. I don't think you're going to have anything close to a replacement for him here in Boston. You're going to be less in that position if you trade him away."

Keefe is taking the opposite view, pointing the feeling that Rask doesn't offer the kind of dependability you need in a championship goal, citing the netminder's choice to leave the Bruins during their recent postseason run.

"I don't think you can rely on him," the co-host of the Dale & Keefe Show explained, adding, "I would rather have (Jaroslav) Halak and the next best available guy then rely on Tuukka."

The 33-year-old is entering the final year of his contract, carrying a deal that includes a $7 million cap hit.
