6 rings: What to expect in the Patriots preseason finale

If your plan was to head to your couch tonight at 8:15 p.m. and watch the likes of Mac Jones, Rhamondre Stevenson, and Matthew Judon play football, think again.

While the Patriots are set to square off against the Tennessee Titans on Friday in their preseason finale, it doesn’t sound like we’re going to see many starters according ESPN’s Mike Reiss. He tweeted this on Friday afternoon:

“The third and final preseason game is sometimes referred to as a dress rehearsal for the regular season, but my understanding is that Bill Belichick isn’t planning to approach it that way tonight.

Would be personally surprised to see many regulars.”

New England’s starters played for most of the first half during last week’s bout in Green Bay, with quarterback Mac Jones commanding the offense for three drives. On Thursday, Reiss suggested on Twitter that the team should take strong consideration in playing the signal caller due to the patchwork offensive line in front of him. It now sounds like this will be the case.
