6 rings: Reacting to Bill Belichick, Robert Kraft Press Conference Announcing Their Parting of Ways

Patriots quarterback Mac Jones is the latest to weigh in on Bill Belichick and New England parting ways. Here's what the signal caller posted to his Instagram (you can view his post here):

"Coach Belichick has made such a big impact on my life. I grew up dreaming of playing in the NFL and that dream grew even stronger after I watched Coach Belichick and the Patriots win the Super Bowl in my hometown. My dream to play in the NFL came true when I was drafted to the Patriots organization and I am grateful to have played for and learned from such a legendary coach. Coach Belichick has impacted me and so many other players in immeasurable ways. I wish Coach Belichick and his family continued success in the future. #ForeverNE."

New England drafted Jones in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft and, after a promising rookie campaign, the quarterback has struggled over the last two seasons. He finished 2023-24 throwing 12 interceptions to just 10 touchdowns and was ultimately benched for backup Bailey Zappe. The Patriots and their next head coach/regime will soon have a decision to make on the 25-year-old as his fifth-year option is eligible to be picked up this offseason.

"I’m looking forward to the next opportunity," Jones said on Monday when asked about his future moving forward. "I know it’s gonna come but at the end of the day, as a quarterback and a competitor, you have to be ready, right? So I’m gonna be ready."

"I really love this place and have a lot of respect for this place," he answered when asked if he wants his next opportunity to be in New England. "We’ll see where it goes."
