6 rings: Everything you need to know ahead of the Patriots’ preseason opener
As is tradition, the Patriots rookie class donned non-traditional numbers for the first two weeks of training camp.
Ahead of their preseason game vs. the Texans, however, the team announced the numbers they’ll wear for the upcoming season (at least for now). Here they are:
19 - CB Christian Gonzalez
99 - DE Keion White
30 - LB//S Marte Mapu
67 - IOL Jake Andrews
38 - K Chad Ryland
61 - OL Sidy Sow
68 - IOL Atonio Mafi
9 - P Bryce Baringer
80 - WR Kayshon Boutte
81 - Demario Douglas
28 - CB Ameer Speed
7 - CB Isaiah Bolden
16 - QB/WR Malik Cunningham
37 - ST Jourdan Heilig
83 - TE Johnny Lumpkin
94 - DT Justus Tavai
13 - WR Thyrick Pitts
These numbers, of course, can and will change prior to week one. For example, there’s no way Bryce Baringer is going to take No. 9 from Matthew Judon, and I have a hard time Isaiah Bolden will pry No. 7 away from JuJu Smith-Schuster.
I’d also expect first-round pick Christian Gonzalez should also be in No. 0 once the regular season begins.
