The Patriots have included the top two offensive tackle prospects in their continued due diligence at the NFL Combine this week.

While at the podium in Indianapolis on Saturday, Notre Dame offensive tackle Joe Alt told reporters that he met with the Patriots this week. Alt added that he spent time with offensive line coach Scott Peters during the interview.

Additionally, Penn State's Olu Fashanu told the media that he's met with New England as well.

Alt, standing at 6-foot-8, 322 pounds is widely considered to be the top offensive tackle prospect in the class. He allowed just one sack as a junior in 2023 according to Pro Football Focus and was named a unanimous All-American.

Fashanu (6-foot-6, 317 pounds) put together an outstanding 2023 as well. He was a Consensus All-American, a First-Team All-Big Ten selection, and named the Big Ten's Rimington-Pace Offensive Lineman of the Year.

While it's been floated this week that New England is dead-set on taking a quarterback with their first-round selection, it was reported in The Athletic last month that with Eliot Wolf taking over as the de facto general manager, "expect the Patriots to give a long, hard look at drafting a left tackle with the No. 3 pick."
