Patriots cornerback Myles Bryant gets a bad rap.

An undrafted free agent out of Washington in 2020, Bryant has been with New England for three past seasons - and was the culprit of an 11-catch, 125-yard performance by Bills wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie in a 2021 regular season loss. Since then, New England fans have never really given him much of a chance.

The 5-foot-9 defender has played 38 career games with the team and continues to make the final 53-man roster year in and year out. Despite this, fans continue to doubt him. Patriots' coaches, however? They love him.

After Bryant earned a 76.2 PFF grade, registered six total tackles (including a massive third down hit on WR AJ Brown), and led the Patriots with three stops in coverage during Sunday's loss to the Eagles, cornerbacks coach Mike Pellegrino had nothing but praise for him on Tuesday:

“One thing about Myles is he’s never satisfied,” he said when asked about the third-year defensive back. “Myles is always getting better. He’s always out there, ten minutes before practice, working on his footwork. He’s always staying late, up until Friday, every day, with Shaun Wade, working on extra stuff.”

"The guy is just a workhorse,” Pellegrino continued. “All he does is work. He just puts in the time and he cares about this game so much. I respect that so much about his effort that he puts into this game, and his preparation, his focus. He’s always dialed in and I always appreciate that about Myles.”

Bryant, along with the rest of his teammates in the New England secondary, will have their hands full this weekend when they welcome the Dolphins to Foxborough. They'll be tasked with covering Miami speedsters Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, who can kill a defense in multiple ways all across the field. The game kicks off at 8:20 p.m. on Sunday.
