6 rings: 3 crucial clashes in sunday's patriots vs. saints matchup

The Patriots had three veteran return to practice on Wednesday with Trey Flowers, Cody Davis and Riley Reiff all having their window's open to be activated off their respective reserve lists.

On Thursday, they had another veteran return as cornerback J.C. Jackson, who the team traded for on Wednesday to help their troubles in the cornerback room, suited up with the team as they get ready for New Orleans.

Here's what else stood out:

Attendance:

Absent: LB Matthew Judon, CB Christian Gonzalez
PUP: S Cody Davis, DE Trey Flowers
IR: WR Tyquan Thornton, OT Riley Reiff, CB Jack Jones, CB Marcus Jones, DL Daniel Ekuale

Other Notes:

- Neither Tyquan Thornton nor Jack Jones, who were placed on injured reserve prior to Week 1, returned to the practice field on Thursday, putting their status' for Sunday against the Saints in doubt.

- Robert Kraft was in attendance at Patriots practice on Thursday, walking by the media and saying "time to get a win."

- J.C. Jackson was sporting #29, which is currently taken by Isaiah Bolden. Bolden is, however, on season-ending injured reserve. It looked like Jackson was also rocking his old Patriots helmet, as there was as "27" sticker on the back. Wondering if he'll try to poach the number off of Myles Bryant.
