6 rings: 3 matchups to watch in patriots vs. commanders
The Patriots returned to the suddenly chilly practice fields outside of Gillette Stadium on Thursday as they gear up for the 3-5 Washington Commanders on Sunday.
Surely, there's plenty to talk about this week including the Belichick trade rumor, his debacle of a coaching tree, key matchups, and more - but for now we're talkin' about practice, man. Here's what stood out, who was there, and who wasn't:
Attendance:
Absent:
WR DeVante Parker
OT Calvin Anderson
OT Trent Brown
DT Davon Godchaux
IR:
CB Marcus Jones
DL Daniel Ekuale
CB Christian Gonzalez
LB Matthew Judon
OT Riley Reiff
OT Tyrone Wheatley Jr.
WR Kendrick Bourne
Other Notes:
- The Patriots signed cornerback Alex Austin to their 53-man roster on Thursday according to Bleacher Report's Jordan Schultz. He was at practice sporting jersey No. 28.
- After missing Wednesday's practice with a back injury, tight end Pharaoh Brown returned to practice. Davon Godchaux was an added absence.
- Sleeveless Mac is back! The Patriots quarterback went no sleeves under his practice uniform to get acclimated to the quickly changing Foxborough weather.
