Tuesday is a harsh day across the NFL as teams must cut down their rosters to 53 players by 4 p.m.

The Patriots must do the same, while also juggling practice and meeting throughout the day. They took the field on Tuesday at 1:35 p.m. Here’s what stood out in the WEEI Patriots Practice Report:

Attendance:

Absent: Isaiah Bolden, Tyquan Thornton, J.J. Taylor, Riley Reiff Conor McDermott

PUP: Cody Davis, Trey Flowers

Other Notes:

- The Patriots’ roster must be cut down to 53 players by Tuesday at 4 p.m. You can follow along with every move at the WEEI roster tracker here.

- Prior to practice on Tuesday, the Patriots waived guard Chasen Hines and tight end Anthony Firkser, according to The Boston Herald’s Doug Kyed.

- Tackle Calvin Anderson was activated off of the non-football injury list prior to practice.

- Wide receiver Demario Douglas shed his red non-contact jersey on Tuesday after nonning one on Sunday.

- Rookie first round pick Christian Gonzalez returned to practice.
