Patriots to host QB Jayden Daniels on pre-draft visit in Foxborough this week

6 rings & football things: The case for Drake, Draft crushes & more with Mike Giardi

The Patriots' due diligence on the top quarterbacks is set to continue on as we inch closer to the 2024 NFL Draft.

After bringing in UNC's Drake Maye last Friday, New England will host former LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels on a 30-visit in Foxborough this week according to SI's Albert Breer.

The visit will reportedly include a dinner on Monday night followed by the formal "30 visit" at Gillette Stadium on Tuesday.

Daniels, the 2023 Heisman Trophy winner, threw for 3,812 yards and 40 touchdowns in his final collegiate season while adding 1,134 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground. His 6-foot-4 210-pound frame mixed with speed, quickness, and ability to create outside of the pocket make him an intriguing first-round prospect.

The Patriots not only met with Daniels at the NFL Combine back in February, but a contingent that included de facto general manager Eliot Wolf, head coach Jerod Mayo, offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt, and quarterbacks coach T.C. McCartney were on hand at LSU's Pro Day last month. The brass reportedly held a "lengthy" meeting with the quarterback following his workout.

The visit to Foxborough marks the third time the two sides will get together as the Patriots are set to select with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. New England will also reportedly bring in Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy for a visit next week.
