The Red Sox have placed rookie outfielder Jarren Duran on the COVID-19 related injured list, the team announced Friday afternoon.
To fill Duran's spot on the active roster, Boston has recalled infielder Jonathan Arauz from Triple-A Worcester.
Red Sox manager Alex Cora told the media that Duran has some symptoms, but has not tested positive. He said it could be a similar situation to Matt Barnes' earlier in the week, when Barnes was on the COVID list for one day before being cleared and removed.
Duran, 24, is hitting .176 with two home runs, five RBIs and a .557 OPS in 17 games since being called up.
