The Giants were in Dallas, where they lost 37-34 on a last second field goal by then-Cowboys kicker Greg Zuerlein to drop to 0-5 on the season.

It was also, until Sunday, the last time the Giants had scored 30 points in a game – a milestone they reached early in the third quarter against Indianapolis in Week 17, en route to a 38-10 win that marked the most points they’ve scored since a 41-35 OT win over Washington on Dec. 22, 2019.

Big Blue scored 24 points in the second quarter and looked to continue that momentum in the second half, but Darius Slayton fumbled on the first play. No matter, as the Giants held and Indianapolis missed a 48-yard field goal, and Daniel Jones then led a six-play, 62-yard drive that ended with this 18-yard touchdown run to push their total to 30:

Big Blue had come close to 30 a few times in between, scoring 27 in a 2020 win over Philly and in a 2021 win over New Orleans, and getting to 29 in that memorable 30-29 loss to Washington in Week 2 of 2021. Their high this season was also 27, in the London win over Green Bay.

Now, however, 38 will go down as the most they’ve scored in three years and 10 days, since that win over the then-Redskins towards the end of a 2019 season they finished 4-12 with a Week 17 loss to the Eagles.

Not this year, though, as the 9-6-1 Giants go into Philly for Week 18 playoff-bound, locked into the sixth seed that they clinched with the win over Indy.
