Aaron Judge’s mother, Patty Judge, has her own unique tradition every time her son blasts another home run.
Patty, as told by Jack Curry of the YES Network, sends a text message to her family and friends every time Judge goes deep, and sends baseball emojis that equal the number of home runs her son has in the season so far. So, in 2022, those messages are running fairly long at this point.
Patty, if she is still continuing with this tradition, would have had to send a text message containing 58 baseball emojis when Judge homered in Sunday’s win over the Brewers, then would have had to send another containing 59 a short while later when Judge went deep for the second time that afternoon. Now, all eyes will be on Judge in the Bronx when the Yanks begin their homestand tonight, wondering if he will break the franchise and American League record and get to 62 home runs, which would mean a text to Judge's family and friends from Patty will look like this if Judge hits 62:
