Amari Cooper catches first touchdown on first reception with Bills in win over Titans

Cooper finished the game with four receptions for 66 yards in a 34-10 win

Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - Despite a drop on the first series of the game, Amari Cooper fit in quite nicely in his Buffalo Bills debut Sunday against the Tennessee Titans at Highmark Stadium.

Just five days after being acquired from the Cleveland Browns, Cooper was able to make an impact in the Bills offense, reeling in four passes from quarterback Josh Allen for 66 yards and a third quarter touchdown to give Buffalo a lead with would not be relinquished.

Things didn't start off so well for Cooper, as on the first drive of the game, the 30-year-old was targeted on a short third down pass with open space to get a first down. However, Allen's pass hit the turf after Cooper had the attempt hit him right in the hands.

That ended up being Cooper's only target of the opening half, as the Bills struggled to get into a groove offensively and trailed 10-7 to the Titans, who entered the game at 1-4 in the standings.

After a defensive stop to start the second half from Buffalo, Allen turned a turnover on downs back the other way and into a touchdown to his new No. 1 wide receiver.

Despite an audible at the offensive line from Allen before the touchdown that seemed to confuse Cooper, the veteran receiver was still able to get into open space and reel in a 12-yard toss from the Bills quarterback.

From there, Allen and Cooper were able to connect three more times, averaging 16.5 yards per-reception in the 34-10 win for Buffalo.

Despite the solid day from Cooper in limited action, Buffalo's leading receiver on the day was rookie wideout Keon Coleman, who reeled in four catches for 125 yards, an average of 31.3 yards per-reception.

Allen was able to put up his first 300-plus-yard passing game of the season in the process, going 21-of-33 for 323 yards and two touchdowns, while going a seventh-straight game to start the year without throwing an interception.

Up next for the 5-2 Bills is a trip to the Pacific Northwest to face the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field. Kickoff is slated for 4:05 p.m. ET on WGR.
