Terrel Bernard, Curtis Samuel dealing with hamstring injuries

The Bills did activate Dawson Knox and Laviska Shenault on Sunday

Pittsford, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - The Buffalo Bills began their second round of practices on Sunday morning at training camp after having Saturday off on the campus of St. John Fisher University.

Heading into Sunday's practice, the Bills are dealing with a couple more notable injuries.

Linebacker Terrel Bernard and wide receiver Curtis Samuel both sat out the session due to hamstring injuries.

Then, on what turned out to be the last play of practice, wide receiver Tyrell Shavers made a terrific one-handed touchdown grab with rookie cornerback Max Hairston covering him. As Hairston tried to knock the ball free, Shavers landed awkwardly as he came down.

He immediately grabbed his right ankle in pain. Athletic trainers tended to him, and a cart came on the field to take him back to the locker room.

ESPN Bills reporter Alaina Getzenberg later reported Sunday that Shavers appears to have avoided a serious injury.

Meanwhile, center Sedrick Van Pran-Granger has yet to practice due to a calf injury.

Tight end Dawson Knox and wide receiver/kick returner Laviska Shenault both sat out of practice once again, but were each activated off the Non-Football Injury (NFI) list later in the day, which means they should be available to practice starting Monday.

Monday’s practice begins at 9:45 a.m. Head coach Sean McDermott will meet with the media at 9:15 a.m.
