Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) - The Buffalo Bills announced on Wednesday they have activated cornerback Kaiir Elam from Injured Reserve.
Elam was placed on I.R. back on Nov. 2 because of a nagging ankle injury that has limited his availability for a good portion of the season. The 22-year-old has only dressed in three games for the Bills this year.
The Bills opened the 21-day practice window for Elam Dec. 6, exactly 21 days ago. That meant he needed to be activated before or on the 27th. If not, he would've remained on Injured Reserve for the remainder of the season.
Elam was drafted 23rd overall by the Bills in the 2022 NFL Draft. He has appeared in 16 NFL games, as well as two playoff games, starting in eight and recording two interceptions.
With this roster move, the Bills are currently at the maximum of players available on the roster at 53.
However, defensive tackle DaQuan Jones and wide receiver Justin Shorter are also in 21-day practice windows that are close to ending, which means the Bills could soon have to make more room on the active roster.
