Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR 550) - The Buffalo Bills begin their three-day mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, their final offseason tune-up before training camp begins in late July.
LISTEN LIVE TO WGR:
The team’s offseason program began way back on April 17 with conditioning and rehab. Since then, they’ve been working in some capacity for eight-straight weeks, added players via the NFL Draft and free agency, and held a rookie minicamp.
As opposed to the previous eight weeks of workouts, this week’s sessions are not voluntary. All players under contract must attend or be fined by the team. Those fines are $16,459 for missing one day, $32,920 for missing a second day and $49,374 a third day.
General manager Brandon Beane said last week he expects everyone to attend minicamp.
While the media will be allowed to attend and watch the full practice each day, noting who is present and who isn’t, the initial focus will be on the status of wide receiver Stefon Diggs, who is the only player yet to be seen for any of the voluntary practices.
Head coach Sean McDermott is scheduled to speak to the media at 11:45 a.m. ET on Tuesday with practice starting at 12:15 p.m. ET. McDermott’s media session will be carried live on WGR Sport Radio 550.
