Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - With the new league year in the National Football League officially underway, teams leaguewide have been officially announcing signings in free agency that were negotiated during the "legal tampering period" that started Monday.
Thursday was a busy signing day for the Buffalo Bills, as they inked deals with a number of players in free agency that they hope will be contributing factors toward a Super Bowl season in 2025.
One of those signing his one-year contract agreed to this free agency period is veteran pass rusher Joey Bosa.
The 29-year-old said he got the chance to talk with his new teammate, Bills quarterback Josh Allen, about what it would mean to win the Super Bowl this year, giving him and the franchise their first titles.
"Josh texted me that if we do what we set out to do, we could really be immortalized in this town. That’s what it’s all about, is winning a championship, and that’s why I think people are here," said Bosa on Thursday during his introductory press conference.
Bosa also didn't shy away from talking about his injury history, and how difficult the last three years was for him to only play 18 regular season games.
"Ready for a clean slate, and building relationships in the training room and weight room," Bosa said. "I think I have a lot to prove to people, but mostly myself."
Another free agent signing for the Bills, this time on the offensive side of the football, is wide receiver Josh Palmer, who joins Bosa coming over from the Los Angeles Charges this offseason.
After signing a three-year deal to become a key piece of the offense going forward, the 25-year-old is particularly excited to get a chance to play alongside the reigning NFL MVP.
"I’ve been blessed and lucky enough to play with Justin [Herbert]... now I’m blessed to play with Josh Allen," said Palmer on Thursday.
