That's it, that's the title

Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) - It felt a lot like one play confirmed why a future Hall-of-Famer like Von Miller chose to end his career in Buffalo.

“He did it again! He’s a huge reason why I came here,” said Miller of his quarterback Josh Allen following the Buffalo Bills' 24-20 win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday afternoon.

Allen juked Chiefs slot cornerback Jarius Sneed like And1 was back in style, and then proceeded to hurdle Chiefs safety Justin Reid to set the Bills up to score just two plays later to take the lead for good.

It’s a play we’ll see, at least, a hundred or so times over the next 48 hours.

Eventually, Allen will stop surprising me with his elite-level playmaking, but what he did Sunday is another notch in the belt. Just jaw-dropping moments in the game's most important situations.

To me, it’s a matter of when, not if Allen wins a Super Bowl. It makes moments like Sunday so special for Bills fans. They can feel it. Everyone in this town feels it.

Allen is the best quarterback in football, and he single-handedly outplayed the only other guy in his class. Each and every week Allen straps up his chin strap, he makes Bills general manager Brandon Beane look more-and-more brilliant. He’s everything this franchise could have hoped for and, yet, so much more.

The offense had their warts all afternoon. They stalled in the red zone multiple times in the first half. They found it almost impossible, at times, to convert third down and short-yardage situations. They put their defense in tough spots, and faced a years-worth of adversity throughout.

Despite that, they found a way.

Add in the fact the Bills added Miller to their defense this offseason, they now have the best quarterback in football, and one of the best edge rushers in football.

Miller single-handedly took over the game late in the fourth quarter, and looked exactly like the missing piece for a Bills team looking to win a Super Bowl for the first time in franchise history.

Let’s sprinkle in a little Taron Johnson, who, once again, made a game-changing interception late in a football game to seal a Bills victory, why don’t we? A guy that struggled all afternoon in coverage against Travis Kelce and JuJu Smith-Schuster coming up with the game-changing play is indicative of the collective mood this football team consistently plays with.

In the NFL, corners must have the memory of a goldfish (finally, I worked in a Ted Lasso reference into an article).

Then there’s the combination of Stefon Diggs and Gabriel Davis. They’d go on to combine for 13 catches, 222 yards and two touchdowns against a very banged up Chiefs secondary. Regardless of who lined up across from them, Diggs and Davis were the difference for the Bills on offense.

It’s easy to look at all the things that Allen can do, but he’s able to do most of them because of the dynamic playmaking of No. 14 and No. 13.

At the end of the day, it was a Week 6 win and nothing more. It sure feels like more though, doesn’t it?

Maybe that’s because of the spotlight shined on this game through a national lens. But I think this game feels the way is does is because of how important both teams made it feel with their play. Both the Chiefs and the Bills treated it like a must-win game, even if Chiefs fans want to downplay it.

It had been said well before the result of this game that these two are on a January collision course, regardless of what happened on Sunday.

While that’s likely true, I am hoping the Bills find a path to a Super Bowl without having to play that team again. I’m just not sure my heart will allow it.
