Philadelphia, Pa. (WGR 550) - The Buffalo Bills were unable to snatch an overtime win away from the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, falling 37-34 at a rainy and soggy Lincoln Financial Field. This loss now puts the Bills at 6-6 heading into their Week 13 bye.
Despite controlling a majority of the game clock in Sunday's overtime loss, Bills head coach Sean McDermott felt the Eagles were able to make more plays than his team, both offensively and defensively. McDermott also feels there were many plays the Bills could have made, but failed to properly execute.
"[It was] obviously a hard fought game. [The] game went back-and-forth. I thought our guys played hard," said McDermott during his postgame press conference with the assembled media. "Had some opportunities to win it, and at the end of the day, they made more plays than we did."
The Bills were able to maintain possession of the ball for over 40 minutes on Sunday, securing 505 yards of total offense and 29 first downs. Buffalo was able to also force two turnovers of the Eagles, but still ended up being on the losing side of the card.
McDermott wanted to end the game as soon as the Bills were able to land a field goal in the overtime, but his defense weren't able to pull through with a stop, allowing the Eagles to get the game-winning touchdown.
"It became a two-dimensional-type of game again with their running game and the RPOs," McDermott said.
