Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR 550) - As part of a flurry of moves to create some salary cap space ahead of the new league year on March 13, the Buffalo Bills have reportedly restructured the contracts for a pair of defensive pieces.

ESPN NFL insider Field Yates reports on Wednesday the Bills and edge rusher Von Miller have agreed to a renegotiated contract. Yates says the new restructured deal has a base value of $8.855 million in 2024, with the chance to make up to $20 million with incentives.

This move will clear around $8.645 million of additional salary cap space for the Bills after the team made a number of other moves on Wednesday to clear around $35 million.

Miller signed a six-year, $120 million contract with the Bills during the 2022 offseason.

In his two seasons with the Bills, Miller has dealt with a major knee injury when he tore his ACL on Thanksgiving Day against the Detroit Lions in in 2022. Miller has appeared in 23 games for the Bills, registering 23 total tackles, 15 tackles for loss, eight sacks and one forced fumble.

The Bills have also reportedly restructured the contract on Wednesday for cornerback Rasul Douglas. This will save the Bills an additional $2.5 million on the salary cap for 2024.

The 29-year-old was acquired by the Bills at the 2023 NFL Trade Deadline from the Green Bay Packers, where he played in nine regular season games, registering 29 total tackles, four interceptions, two fumble recoveries and a touchdown.
