Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - The Buffalo Bills have added a significant piece to their pass rush ahead of the 2025 campaign in Western New York.
As reported by multiple outlets Tuesday night, ahead of NFL Free Agency opening Wednesday, the Bills signed five-time Pro Bowl defensive end and 2016 Associated Press Defensive Player of the Year, Joey Bosa to a one-year contract. The deal carries a reported cap hit of $12.6 million.
Bosa, who will be 30-years-old in July, has been one of the premier pass rushers in the National Football League for most of his career. However, injuries have plagued him over the last three seasons. causing him to play only 28 of a possible 51 regular season games.
Prior to that, Bosa had recorded 58 sacks in 79 games over his first six NFL seasons, all with the Los Angles Chargers.
Bosa was the third overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft by the Chargers out of Ohio State University. His brother Nick, who was the second overall selection in 2019 by the San Francisco 49ers, is also considered one of the premier pass rushers in the league.
Both Bosa brothers are cousins with former Bills wide receiver Jake Kumerow.
According to NFL insider Dianna Russini, Buffalo beat out two other teams who were very interested in signing Bosa: The 49ers, where his brother plays, and the Miami Dolphins, where they grew up.
