Burrow was sacked seven times — tying a Super Bowl record previously held by Roger Staubach in Super Bowl X — including two by both Von Miller and Aaron Donald.

Five of those seven sacks came in the third quarter — on just 12 dropbacks — setting a Super Bowl record for the most sacks in a single quarter.

On the seventh sack, which occurred early in the fourth quarter, Burrow went down in extreme pain and grabbed his right before limping off the field.

He remained in the game for two more drives, including the final one where he was unable to escape the pressure from the Rams on a fourth-and-1 and frantically threw the ball before taking another sack only to fall short of running back Samaje Perine.

Despite being under pressure all game, Burrow had the Bengals in position to win the game, leading 20-16 heading into the fourth quarter.

He threw for 263 yards and a touchdown, which came on the first play of the second half when he connected with Tee Higgins on a 75-yard touchdown.

As the Bengals now shift their attention to the offseason, protecting Joe Burrow will likely be a main priority if they hope to return to the Super Bowl again.
