Buffalo N.Y. (WGR 550) - "I'm not retiring, I'm just not doing this anymore!"
It was an emotional send off for longtime Buffalo broadcaster Howard Simon on Friday, as he calls it a career after 18-plus years spent hosting the morning drive show on WGR Sports Radio 550.

A number of people chimed in on Friday during Howard's final four hours of sports radio, including listeners, former co-workers, and other professionals in the business sending well-wishes.
During the final segment of Friday's show, Howard and co-host Jeremy White took the time to share some final thoughts and emotions shared from the last 18 years on-air.
Finally, Howard took to the microphone and gave his final acknowledgments, thank you messages and goodbyes, with much love extended to his family, including his parents, his wife JoAnn and his son Jonathan.
Here is a transcript of his final goodbye during his last segment on WGR:
"I know it was gonna be bittersweet. I'm not gonna lie, I won't miss the job, I won't miss the hours. It's long-past time for me to move on and let somebody else do this. But I will miss the people. I will miss the people in this building, too numerous to name. At 'GR and all the radio stations, the salespeople, management, the on-air, the engineers, the production people. You don't miss the job, but you miss the friendships, the lifelong friendships. The truly wonderful people that I was able here, and in all the stops to be able to call colleagues, and to have lifelong friendships. And today, you [Jeremy] gave me the greatest going away gift anybody could ever get. I didn't know what to expect from the show, but everything you did, people in our past that we've worked with, the people calling in, everything that happened today, you put this together, Joe [DiBiase], whoever else was involved, it is beyond anything I ever could have imagined. These last four-plus hours - 4:15 - these last four hours and 15 minutes have been the greatest send off ever. I will never, ever forget how much you did for me with this show today. It is the greatest thing in the world. I love all of you. Thank you very much."
