Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) - After winning two-straight games in impressive fashion, the Buffalo Sabres have now lost two in a row, and only have one goal to account for in that span. After a 3-0 loss to the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday, the Sabres were embarrassed on home ice on Monday, losing 6-1 to the Florida Panthers.
Unfortunately for the Sabres, the schedule does not get any easier with the return of Jack Eichel and the Vegas Golden Knights coming to town on Thursday for a 7 p.m. EST faceoff at KeyBank Center.

Sabres head coach Don Granato joined the “Howard and Jeremy Show” on Tuesday for his weekly segment on WGR. When asked about the expectations for this season and how to learn from games like Monday, Granato says not winning is not acceptable.
“We [have to] let go of the result, but not the lesson," he said with Howard Simon and Jeremy White.
Granato also talked about the fight this specific group has, and also laid out his plan as a coach with the young core the Sabres have.
“As these players get better, the goal is to coach less and let the team take over,” Granato said.
The Sabres will also have the 2022 Heritage Classic coming up this Sunday against the Toronto Maple Leafs at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, Ontario. Granato says the team is ready for the challenge, especially after the Sabres beat the Maple Leafs, 5-1 in Toronto this past week.
