Sabres, Ducks swap defensemen in minor league deal

Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) - The Buffalo Sabres and Anaheim Ducks have agreed to a minor league trade on Friday that involved the swapping of defensemen.

Buffalo has acquired 26-year-old defenseman Austin Strand from Anaheim in exchange for fellow 26-year-old defenseman Chase Priskie.

Strand joined the Ducks organization this past offseason after spending four seasons in the Los Angeles Kings organization. This season saw Strand making five appearances in the NHL with the Ducks, registering no points and a minus-2 rating.

In 46 games with Anaheim's AHL affiliate San Diego Gulls, Strand has scored two goals and added six assists for eight points.

As for Priskie, he's spent the entirety of his 2022-23 season with the Rochester Americans in the AHL. In 42 games played with the Amerks, Priskie has scored four goals and added five assists for nine points.

Priskie joined the Sabres organization this past offseason as an unrestricted free agent after spending parts of four seasons with the Carolina Hurricanes and Florida Panthers organizations.
