Allen-to-Palmer connection got going Friday at training camp

Joshua Palmer made several catches from the Bills quarterback

Pittsford, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - The only two significant changes to the entire Buffalo Bills offense from the end of last season are the losses of wide receivers Mack Hollins and Amari Cooper, and the additions of wideouts Joshua Palmer, Elijah Moore, and rookie seventh-round draft pick Kaden Prather.

At various times throughout organized team activities (OTAs) and minicamp, we've seen quarterback Josh Allen finding his connection with several of his pass-catchers, including Moore, Keon Coleman, and Dalton Kincaid.

At training camp on Friday at St. John Fisher University, the Allen-to-Palmer connection started to heat up.

From the jump, Allen was on point, throwing the ball, placing it perfectly to several different receivers all across the field. He didn't have one incompletion in the early 7-on-7 portion, until the very end when there was a miscommunication and safety Taylor Rapp grabbed an interception.

Palmer was on the receiving end of several of those plays, including a terrific over-the-shoulder fade down the left sideline he hauled in for a long gain.

Cam Lewis, who's had a strong camp, was in coverage and seemed to be in a perfect spot. But Allen put the ball where only the taller Kincaid could go up to get it, as both were heading towards the sidelines. Lewis got up shaking his head, as if he didn't know what else he was supposed to do to break it up.

Coleman continued to get in on the act with Allen, as well. He had a couple catches that turned into long gains after runs, but also wasn't able to come up with a football that Allen fired in just after Coleman's head turned toward him.

The ball got there very quickly, but so did rookie Max Hairston. The Coleman versus Hairston battles are getting more fun to watch each day. It will get even more interesting when the pads come on Monday, after a day off and one more day of practice.
