DETROIT (WWJ) – One of the four people who was shot Monday afternoon when a brawl in Detroit escalated to gunfire has been released from the hospital.

Detroit police on Monday evening said four people – ages 15, 16, 18 and 29 – were sent to the hospital after the large fight involving about 20 people boiled over.

Authorities did not say which person was released on Tuesday, but said the other three were all in stable condition.

Authorities are still investigating the incident, which unfolded around 4:45 p.m. Monday in the 12600 block of McCoy Circle, near Warren Avenue and Conner Street.

Police Chief James White said Monday investigators weren’t yet sure what sparked the melee, but there were multiple shooters, as they recovered at least 30 shell casings and two guns at the scene.

The investigation continued on Tuesday, with police combing through video footage, including some from nearby Project Green Light locations.

Police are still looking for additional witnesses to the incident. Anyone who has information pertinent to the investigation is asked to come forward.

Tips can be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP. Anyone with information can also call the DPD’s 5th Precinct at 313-596-5500.
