(WWJ) More than 72,000 homes and businesses across metro Detroit are still without power in the wake of Saturday evening’s treacherous storms.
About 106,911 southeastern Michigan residents were originally knocked off the grid, representing about 5% of DTE’s customers.

Among the hardest hit areas is western and northern Oakland County, in communities including: Walled Lake, Commerce, Highland Charter Township, Rose, Clyde, Milford, Keego Harbor, Waterford Township and Pontiac.
Many of the customers were in Armada, where one of four reported tornados occurred in southeastern Michigan on Saturday.
The National Weather Service has classified the tornado that touched down near the intersection of 34 Mile Road and Armada Ridge Road as an EF-1, with winds up to 105 mph.
Forecasters say its path was about 3.6 miles long and 700 yards wide as it tore through downtown Armada, uprooting trees and damaging several home and businesses in the area.
Along with the confirmed tornados in Armada, White Lake, and Port Austin, there were several other suspected twisters in the area Saturday.
One was at the Lodge and Davison freeways in Detroit, one was near Clarkston in Oakland County, and another caused damage near Flushing, west of Flint, in Genesee County.
Meanwhile, pockets of smaller outages are also still scattered across the listening area in other parts of Oakland, Wayne, Macomb, Monroe and Washtenaw counties.
Restoration time is currently ranging from Monday to Tuesday evening.
