FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) -- An arrest has been made in a deadly crash along I-696 that police say involved a wrong-way driver.
Farmington Hills police said last week that an 81-year old Detroit man, who died in the crash on March 13 near Halsted Road, was going the wrong way.
However, police now say digital forensic evidence revealed that a 26-year old man driving an SUV that crashed into the van was at fault in the crash. He suffered minor injuries.
The SUV driver, Richard Leon-Zghen, has been charged with reckless driving causing death.
Leon-Zghen was arraigned in 47th District Court, and ordered held on a $250,000 cash or surety bond.
Police are continuing to analyze evidence and interview witnesses, as the investigation remains active and ongoing.
Anyone with additional information related to this crash should call the Farmington Hills Police Command Desk at 248-871-2610.
