(WWJ) A Detroit teen is being held on a $500,000 bond, charged as an adult for shooting into a group of half-a-dozen people on the city's west side.

The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office said three people, including a small child, were wounded in the incident the evening of Saturday, Sept. 18, at a Mobil gas station on 7 Mile Road, near the Southfield Freeway.

At around 7:30 p.m., it's alleged that 17-year-old Elijah Copeland has just left the gas station, headed south on the Southfield Service Drive, when he opened fire at six people.

The shots struck three victims: a young woman, a man, and a 3-year-old child that the man was holding at the time, authorities said.

The wounded adults were taken to a local hospital, where the woman was listed in critical condition. Fortunately, the child is OK.

Copeland fled the scene after the shooting, prosecutors, but turned himself in to police the next day.

He has been charged with the following: Six counts of assault with intent to murder, six counts of assault with intent to do great bodily harm, two counts of discharge from a vehicle causing injury, one count of possession of a loaded firearm in or upon a vehicle, and 14 counts of felony firearm.

Copeland was arraigned in 36th District Court on Wednesday. If he is able to post bond, he ordered to have no weapons and to have no contact with the complaining witnesses.

He will be back in court for a Probable Cause Conference scheduled for Sept. 29.
