19-year-old man dead, 20-year-old critical after shooting in Detroit

(WWJ) One young man is dead and another is in critical condition after an early morning shooting on Detroit's west side.

According to Detroit Police, the victims and a third man were getting into a parked KIA Forte in the 17000 block of Plymouth, near the Southfield Freeway, just before 2 a.m. -- when someone fired multiple shots at vehicle.

Two of the men were shot, and the third drove the trio away from the scene.

They stopped in the area of Warren and Mansfield when they saw a Dearborn Police scout car. The Dearborn officers notified Detroit Police, who arrived on scene and began administering aid to the victims until EMS arrived.

One victim, 19-year-man, succumb to his injuries at the hospital. The second victim, 20-year-man, was listed in critical condition. Their names were not released.

Circumstances surrounding the shooting are still being investigated, police said.

As of Friday afternoon, no arrests had been made and no suspects had been described,
