DETROIT (WWJ) – A Detroit man has been charged with first-degree murder for the stabbing death of his brother.

Bruce Jenkins, 58, is accused of stabbing his 52-year-old brother, Imari Jenkins, to death early Monday morning.

Detroit police were called to a home in the 13570 block of Mansfield Street – near Schoolcraft and Greenfield – shortly before 5 a.m. on April 25.

When officers showed up, they found the younger Jenkins lying in the entrance of the home with multiple stab wounds.

Medics took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police believe the brothers had gotten into an argument, which escalated, leading to Jenkins stabbing his brother multiple times and fleeing the scene.

Jenkins was arrested later the same day.

Authorities have not said what makes the slaying a first-degree murder case.

Jenkins was arraigned in 36th District Court on Wednesday. His next court appearance is May 11.
