
(WWJ) – Two drivers are dead and a child is hospitalized in critical condition following a head-on collision on I-94 in St. Clair County Monday afternoon.
Michigan State Police say a 25-year-old man from St. Clair headed the wrong way in the eastbound lanes of I-94 near Medrum Road smashed his Chevrolet Cruze into the front-end of a GMC Yukon, driven by a 33-year-old Teah Tapner from Casco Township, around 2:30 p.m.
Both drivers were killed in the crash, while Tapner's young son, who was a passenger in her car, was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
Authorities have not released the age of the child.

It was not immediately clear what led to the driver entering the freeway in the wrong direction.
Authorities are still investigating the crash.
