DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit Police are investigating a shooting involving a security guard outside a bar on the city's northwest side.
Reporting from the scene, along Grand River Ave. at Woodbine St., WWJ's Mike Campbell said shots were fired outside Views Bar & Grill, just after 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.
According to witnesses, there were two people, believed to be males, shooting into a crowd.
Someone working security at the business then fired back, wounding the two people who initially opened fire, Campbell said.
One of the wounded was last reported in stable condition at local hospital, and the other was in critical condition later Wednesday morning.
"The question is: Was it a justified shooting? And according to Detroit Police, they're still investigating that," Campbell reported.
At this time, it's still unclear what prompted the initial gunfire as the investigation continues.
While it was noted that the Detroit Gang Enforcement squad did respond to the scene, Campbell toted that the DPD has not said this incident is believed to be gang-related.
