DETROIT (WWJ) -- Three teenagers have been arrested after stealing a car and leading Michigan State Police on a high-speed chase Tuesday morning.
It all began at around 2:40 a.m. when MSP troopers noticed a 2013 Ford Escape that had been reported stolen on Wyoming Street near Schoolcraft in Detroit.
Troopers turned on their emergency lights to make a traffic stop when the suspect fled, prompting a high-speed chase.
Police started to pursue the vehicle, but once the suspect reached speeds of 100 mph and turned off their lights troopers terminated the pursuit for safety reasons.
MSP also said this isn't the first time the Escape had fled police -- doing so previously over the weekend.
While conducting checks of the area for the stolen car, troopers located the suspect's vehicle parked at a gas station located at Joy and Greenfield roads.
Police were able to box in the vehicle shortly after.
Three young suspects, ages 13, 15 and 17, were then taken into custody without incident.
No injuries have been reported.
An investigation in ongoing and a report will be sent to the prosecutor's office.
