
PORT HURON (WWJ) - One traveler is facing a steep fine and possible charges after he allegedly lied to border agents about the value of his classic car.
The Canada Border Services Agency said to Sarnia News that the person behind the wheel of a red 1969 Chevrolet Camaro declared their vehicle at $70,000 while crossing the Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron.
In actuality, the classic car is valued at $126,000.
Agents seized the Camaro after the false declaration was discovered and the driver was fined over $25,500.
The traveler is also facing Customs Act charges, border agents added.
