State Police Bomb Squad, cops on scene of officer-involved shooting in mid-Michigan

OLIVE TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - Officials confirmed an officer-involved shooting just north of Lansing on Thursday afternoon.

Michigan State Police said via Twitter that there was a shooting involving a police officer along the 6000 block of old US-27 in Clinton County, north of the state capital.

Troopers said the suspect was in custody; their condition remains unknown at this time.

Detective from the Third District Investigation Section are conducting an investigation into the incident. MSP said more details will be released at a later time.

The MSP Bomb Squad was also dispatched as a precaution.

No information what led to the shooting was given by authorities, but MSP said no officers were hurt.
