
DETROIT (WWJ) -- An investigation is underway on Detroit’s northeast side after a shooting along 8 Mile Road Tuesday afternoon sent two people to the hospital.
Detroit police tell WWJ a preliminary investigation revealed that three men in a Chrysler Sebring were traveling along 8 Mile near Gratiot Avenue when someone in another vehicle opened fire on them around 3:15 p.m.
Two of the victims were struck by gunfire, according to police.
The shooting caused the Sebring to crash into a tree, police said.

Two of the victims were taken to the hospital. One was listed in critical condition. Police have not released any information about the victims.
It was not clear what prompted the shooting and authorities are working to find out more about the suspect who fired the shots.
Police did not immediately release any information about the suspect's vehicle.
