SANDUSKY, Ohio (WWJ) – There are some big changes coming to Cedar Park this summer, as the amusement park prepares to open for the season this weekend.

Cedar Point’s 153rd summer gets underway Saturday, May 7, and officials say the park is going cashless for all transactions within the park and its surrounding properties.

Officials say the cashless transactions are “safe, quick and will significantly improve the guest experience at dining, retail and point-of-sale spots throughout the park.”

Cedar Point officials say they accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express credit cards, and most debit cards, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay.

If you bring cash to the park, you can convert it into a prepaid debit card that can be used anywhere – not just inside the park – with no fees. There are multiple cash-to-card kiosks throughout the park.

More information on Cedar Point’s new cashless program can be found at https://www.cedarpoint.com/cashless.

Other changes coming to the Ohio park this thrill-seeking season include the all-new Summer Pass. The $99 pass includes unlimited admission and free parking to Cedar Point through Labor Day 2022.

It also includes access to everything Cedar Point has to offer in the heart of the summer, including Frontier Festival, Cedar Point Nights, the Celebrate Cedar Point Parade & Spectacular, the mile-long Cedar Point Beach and more.

For $36 more, Summer Passholders can add Cedar Point Shores Waterpark, HalloWeekends and bring-a-friend opportunities.

Cedar Point has also renovated the year-round indoor waterpark hotel Castaway Bay and Sawmill Creek, which is surrounded by 200 acres of woodlands for a nature-inspired resort getaway.
