SANDUSKY, Ohio (WWJ) – Thrill seekers will be able to get into Cedar Point for a slightly cheaper price this season – at least those who buy tickets at the gate.
The Sandusky, Ohio amusement park is set to charge $80 for gate admission this summer, according to a report from Cleveland.com.
It’s the first price drop in nearly 20 years, according to the report. Last year gate admission was $85, though this year’s price is still higher than the $75 in 2021.
The last time the park lowered prices was 2006, when admission went from $44.95 to $39.95.
Prices are coming back down slightly after seeing a sharp increase at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The at-the-gate price still remains higher than online tickets, though. Daily tickets are available on the Cedar Point website for $49.99 for the majority of days this summer. A full summer pass is available for $105.
Last weekend Cedar Point held a job fair as it gears up for this season, which begins on May 6. After that, the park will be closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for two weeks. After May 17, the park will be open every day through Labor Day weekend.
