Troopers stop convicted felon attempting to bring handgun across Ambassador Bridge: MSP

DETROIT (WWJ) - State police said they apprehended a man after he attempted to bring a handgun across the border Friday evening.

Michigan State Police said troopers were dispatched to the Ambassador Bridge around 7 p.m. Friday after a man was stopped for having a weapon.

MSP said the 41-year-old man from Pontiac did not have a concealed pistol license and was found to be a convicted felon.

Officials said the man was arrested and is currently in jail pending a prosecutor review. No further details were released.
