BAD AXE (WWJ) -- A husband and wife in the thumb are dead after a crash with a semi-truck Thursday afternoon.
Michigan State Police say a preliminary investigation shows the couple was driving in a 1993 Buick on M-46 and Kirk Road in Tuscola County's Juniata Township when they failed to stop at an intersection.
The driver, 56-year-old Gerald Koglin, of Bad Axe, went through the intersection and right into the path of an oncoming eastbound semi-tractor trailer, driven by a 34-year-old Marlette man.
The two vehicles crashed into each other, killing Koglin and his 48-year-old wife Jeannie. The driver of the semi was not injured.
No other injuries have been reported.
The crash remains under investigation.
