HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. (WWJ) – A Detroit man is facing a number of charges, including felony murder, for allegedly shooting the owner of a check cashing store in the face last week in Highland Park.
In addition to murder, 53-year-old Paul Clifton McColor was arraigned Monday on one count of larceny, two counts of felony firearm and one count of felon in possession of a firearm for the alleged shooting late Friday afternoon.
The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office says it all unfolded shortly after 4 p.m. on March 18 when McColor allegedly walked into an employee area of the store, located along Woodward Avenue, just north of the Davison Freeway,
McColor apparently got into an argument, pulled out a gun and shot 53-year-old Saad Hanna Halabo of West Bloomfield in the face, fatally wounding the victim, before fleeing the scene on foot.
Michigan State Police responded to the scene on Friday, where they found Halabo lying lifeless on the floor.

MSP searched the area with the help of a K-9 unit and a chopper, and eventually arrested McColor on Saturday after an overnight search.
The investigation left Woodward closed in both directions for several hours.
McColor was remanded to the Wayne County Jail on Monday and is due back in court on March 29.
