DETROIT (WWJ) -- A 29-year-old Detroit man is facing several charges in connection to a double shooting.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy charged Edward Mack Anderson on Monday with the non-fatal shootings of two Detroit residents -- a 63-year-old man and a 56-year-old woman.

According to officials, on March 14, at approximately 9:14 p.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 350 block of Newport Street for a reported shooting.

Upon their arrival, officers located the male victim with a gunshot wound to the right arm, and the female victim with a gunshot wound to the left thigh. Both were transported to local hospital for treatment.

Authorities allege that Anderson forced his way into the victim’s home and fired a handgun, non-fatally wounding the victims before fleeing the scene.

Anderson was arrested three days later on March 17.

He is charged with two counts of assault with intent to murder, one count of first-degree home invasion, three counts of felony firearm, one count of felonious assault and one count of felon in possession of a firearm.

He was arraigned and remanded to jail on March 19. His probable cause conference is scheduled for March 29 and his preliminary examination is scheduled for April 5 in the 36th district court.
